Rickie Richey is the CEO and founder of Altaworx, LLC., a diversified telecommunications carrier with customer in 41 US states, Canada and Mexico. After working for several Fortune 500 companies as a General Manager in contract management, Rickie founded Altaworx in 2001, becoming one of the first companies in Alabama to install and service VoIP (IP) telephone system. In 2011 Altaworx became a certified telecommunications carrier. In 2013, Altaworx became one of the first AT&T first resellers in the AT&T Partner Exchange Program. In 2013 Altaworx added AT&T Control Center (Cisco/Jasper) IoT connectivity to the company’s offerings. Altaworx was ranked the 12th fastest growing telecommunication company in the US, and the fastest growing company telecommunications in Alabama on Inc. Magazine’s 2018 list of privately held companies. Altaworx was also a member of the 2017 Inc. 5000 list.
Rickie is on the Advisory Board for Hatch Fairhope, a business resource hub for technology-based entrepreneurs sponsored by the University of Alabama and the Baldwin County Economic Development Alliance and the advisor to several other startups in the IoT space. In addition to his business advisory roles, Rickie is the race director for the non-profit Jubilee Kid’s Triathlon which raises money for local charities.
